Jim McCaskill, CPC founded High Desert Executive Search in 2000. Mr. McCaskill has successfully completed searches at the senior manager, director and vice president levels in areas such as sales, service, finance, marketing, product development, information services, materials and manufacturing. His client base includes companies in computer hardware, software and distribution; networking; semiconductor and semiconductor capital equipment industries.

Before founding High Desert, he was the vice president of search operations for an Austin-based technology executive search firm from 1992 to 2000.

From 1988 to 1992, Mr. McCaskill was a senior human resource specialist at Dell Computer Corporation. In this capacity, he personally hired over 500 exempt employees throughout the company, at levels ranging from individual contributors to vice presidents. Mr. McCaskill was involved in the development of relocation policies, interview procedures, employment agency policies and other staffing policies and procedures. He also initiated Dell's College Relations Program and the Dell 'Intern Program, which later numbered over 300 students.

From 1985 to 1988, Mr. McCaskill was the manager of the Executive Search Division of Austin Personnel Consultants; an Austin-based search firm. He redirected the firm from an Austin focus to a nationwide focus.

From 1975 to 1985, Mr. McCaskill was employed by the J.C. Penney Co. Inc. in various capacities. He served in their Merchandise Management Program, progressing to senior merchandise manager, a position he held from 1979 to 1985.

In December of 1978, Mr. McCaskill received a bachelor of business administration in marketing from the Anderson School of Management at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Mr. McCaskill is also a Certified Personnel Consultant (CPC). He has served as a three-term president of the Capital City Association of Personnel Consultants, and is currently a vice president of the Texas Association of Personnel Consultants, both industry trade associations. The Texas Association of Personnel Consultants named him "CPC of the year" for 1999.
